A new study conducted by a team of researchers have shown that using cheat codes in video games is linked to mental health issues later in life. They used the iconic 2004 video game named GTA Sandreas on their study because of it's wide appeal to the console gaming community. What they found out is shocking, adults who admitted using cheat codes in their childhood exhibited behaviors that can make them broke or worse, divorced.

Like the famous Stanford Marshmallow experiment where kids are given a challenge of delayed gratification, the new San Andreas Cheatcode experiment was a retrospective experiment among millennials.

'I frequently used HESOYAM,BAGUVIX,ROCKETMAN back when GTA: San Andreas first came out'. I did not spend time doing missions, f*ck missions,f*ck Big Smoke.' says one of the respondents of the research. The unnamed man is still in debt and living on a trailer.

Another respondent said 'I'm into missions, and the missions with CJ having multiple girls inspired me to be a total chad and womanizer. Thrice divorced, and broke because of child support'.

There are other respondents that admitted to have finished the game using minimal cheat codes. And undertook missions, collected Easter Eggs, and brought many properties in the game. They are now 6 figure earners(and probably closet sociopaths)!

One respondent even noted that he finished the game for 2 weeks without using cheat codes. It is interesting to note, that the game is not supposed to played by kids because of its 'M' ESRB rating. But many kids back then, played it without parental supervision. The study is very similar to the Stanford Marshmallow experiment.
