WWIII? Russia Announced That All American Warplanes Are Targets in Syria

A USN F/A-18 intercepted and shot down a Syrian Air Force plane 2 days ago in the Syrian airspace. This aggressive action is countered by Russia, a known allied nation of Syria. The Russian military announced that they will shot down any American warplane in Syria if aggressions would not cease.

The Syrian plane is identified to be a SU-22 bomber. It is a relic of the Cold War and proven to be reliable in bombing runs and targeting enemy installations. The plane belongs to Syrian Democratic Forces. USN reports that the carrier capable F/A-18 shot down the SU-22 after the pilot dropped bombs in Allied/Coalition military installments in Raqqa province near Euphrates River.

The Syrian civil war have been raging on for more than 6 years. The dogfight or air to air battle was the first since the civil war started in 2011. The series of actions of US military in Syria is seen by Russian military as transgressions of international laws and treaties.
