Mysterious Object Orbiting The Ring Of Saturn Caught In Picture By NASA

The Cassini spacecraft of NASA doing its weekly orbit on the ring of Saturn. It tracks several small objects while passing the F ring.

Oddly, the scientists said that an unidentified object was seen that may have a solid body that may have withstand a couple of "collisions."

Ring Of Saturn

A report from the space agency's website says that the Cassini spacecraft of NASA has caught pictures of 2 strangest objects drifting over the Saturn's F ring. These has been named F16QA and F16QB. Scientists announced that these objects may have occasionally clash through the F ring's nucleus that produced wonderful collision structures and since they were able to withstand those collisions, the scientists think that they may hold solid bodies in them.

The images that was obtained by NASA on February 05, 2017 by using the Cassini spacecraft's narrow angle camera. At a range of 610,000 miles or 982,000 km for F16QB and 556,000 miles or 894,000 km for F16QA from ring F. The image ratio is 4 miles or 6 kilometers per pixel.

The dust that can be seen around the mysterious object in the picture is possibly the product of the most latest collision. Scientist believes that these objects may have been developed due to the result of the disturbances brought about by Saturn's moon Prometheus. Though, it is just a theory that explains that the outer planets in our solar system are far more unknown than we thought.
Scientists claims that the objects was formed as loose clumps in the F ring's core.

In the spring of 2016, these mysterious objects were first discovered as Cassini passed from more central orbit into orbit with an abrupt incline over the planet's equator.

A cooperative project with the European Space Agency or ESA, Italian Space Agency and NASA, the Cassini mission was launched. A division from the California Institute of Technology called The Jet Propulsion laboratory in Pasadena manages the mission for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Washington. The 2 onboard cameras and the Cassini orbiter were constructed, refined and was put together at JPL. The Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colorado is where the imaging operations center is located.
