Paranormal Phenomena That Have Scientific Explanation

In the year 2005, around 35% of the population believed in paranormal entities like ghosts. After 8 years, the number went to 47%! Do you believe in ghost? I do, well at least before I did a research on the activity of thee haunting. Now I am a little skeptic when it comes to the paranormal, in the traditional sense at least.

Paranormal Phenomena That Have Scientific Explanation

In cases like poltergeist that can move objects or furniture or some apparitions, proof in the past that supported the presence of phantom beings. Though scientist don't believe and have offered an interpretation for just about every "evidence" of the hunting.

Here are the ways we’ve exercised our ghosts.

 The Ouija

The Ouija

Let us start off with one of my favorites, the Ouija board. I have used this board or spirit board in plentiful occasions, speaking to deceased friends and relatives - at least, I thought I did. According to Science, the Ouija board is just a carrier for ideomotor effects.

Let us simplify this. The planchette which is French for 'Little Plank', that little hand-held device that selects the letters and the answer like "yes" and "no". Yeah that little thing that suppose to move on its own. The Ideomotor effect or the influence of suggestion or expectation on involuntary unconscious motor behavior in our brain causes us to move the planchette without us knowing it due to the suggestion.

Michael Faraday have proven this concept by implying which direction a table would move ahead of time, which it did. The power of suggestion that is commonly used by some mentalist is indeed powerful than others may think.

Channeling Spirits

Channeling Spirits

Another experience in my belief, which I always felt that something or someone could speak through me. We call them spirits, but doctors would call them "bipolar disorder with a little psychotic tendencies". Well, I found them useful for understanding what is happening around me.

John Edward, a psychic from a television shows claims that he can indeed talk to the dead. Another one is J. Z. Knight who claims that she channeled a spirit named Ramtha, who says she is from the depths of the lost city of Atlantis. Well, I have no comment but those disbeliever and researchers tells us that we are only hearing voices inside our heads. In science, this is called Automatism which is a set of brief unconscious behaviors. This occurs from seconds to minutes, a time which the subject is unaware of his or her action.

Automatism is when our brains thinks overtime. Your random thought, those other unworldly ideas, those that are just part of your imagination. Not those ghostly voices of the dead or spirits that is speaking to us.

Cold spots

Cold spots

Cold spots, literally something cold. This is what you know when a certain spot will have a sudden decrease of temperature that is left behind after the spirits use heat as energy, these are just drafts.

This is also known as Convection, this is the process where cold air goes down and the hot air rise up.

This is similar for dry air sinking and moist air rising. So basically, when air is moving around and it is causing a slight breeze to form. For many of us, including those ghost hunters, seekers and alike, we feel cold spots.

Just to be clear, this is not a ghost and there is no ghost. Just turn up the heat!

Orbs

Orbs

Most of us, including those who really believe in ghost are still in doubt with orbs. Not all orbs are ghost, according to those experienced ghost hunters. In some cases of these pictures, these are images of lint, hairs or smudges, which makes a real orb apparition rare. According to science, no orb is supernatural and they are just a specks of dusts. If you want to eliminate the ghost, clean the lenses of your camera.

I agree with this one, I was never a fan of orb hunting and personally I think that this is boring.

Shadow People

Shadow People

When I was a child, I had this imaginary friend that I like to call the "Black Ghost". I would normally see him hide behind me, playing peekaboo with me and sometimes will see him float just above my head. It seemed that he would always copy my movements that would make me laugh. As a child, I was never scared of him as I am now. Now he scares the crap out of me!

A lot of people think that shadow people are demons or astral projections. As per Swiss scientist, these people are the proof or product of stimulation in the left temporoparietal area of the brain. Interference in this region of the brain makes it hard for us to tell the difference between ourselves and other people. This makes it difficult for us to apprehend our own body, so we create copies.

Apparitions

Apparitions

Other apparitions can be due to remaining haunting or poltergeist, or just a product of infrasound. Yes, you guessed it correctly, science has resolve another one of our creepy thoughts. Probably, we are encountering a form of blurred vision.

Humans can hear up to 20,000 Hz but only as low as 20 Hz, but vibrations can still be present from the sound. Dr. Richard Wiseman says that we can feel these vibrations in our stomach as either a positive or negative feelings. So, the apparition are those things that vibrates within our bodies. Our eyes vibrates at 19 Hz thus making our visions blurred that may cause us to see things... that really are there. They only look distorted and means they look quite strange.

Full-blown haunting

Full-blown haunting

Apparitions can be shocking, strange sounds, noises are frightening. Moving objects and furniture, well that is another thing that can send you to cardiac arrest. But how about a full-blown haunting, are you ready for that? Don't worry, researchers have discovered scientific evidence that none of these things are paranormal.

Hallucinations both visual and audio can be caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. In 1921, William Wilmer told a tale of a family who experienced to that they thought was a full-blown haunting for a moving chair, seeing people at the foot of the bed and all plants are starting to die. As it turns out, their furnace was leaking carbon monoxide into the house thus altering the minds of their family.

These things usually happens right before you die from the fumes. Scary!

The fact is, I still believe in ghost, but I have reasons to believe that I will also question some of these things. Facts doesn't lie, and science proves a lot of haunted myths to be false. 'Til next time, let's have it in our mind that all the tiny basis that can resolve what we see, feel or hear. When all is taken into account, When all the T's are removed and all I's are dotted, we may then see a real ghost.

All is possible, you just need to believe.
