Let It Snow! When Queen Elsa Visited Sahara

Snow in Sahara

White Christmas is common to countries like America and Japan but for Africa having a snowfall is a rare phenomenon.

Ain Sefra, Algeria, Dec. 21 -- A layer of snow fell onto the red sand dunes in Northern Africa's Sahara desert for the first time in nearly 40 years. Africa is known for deserts and its wildlife, snowfall haven’t occurred to them since 1979.

Seems like Queen Elsa from “Frozen” visited Sahara and let it snow there. The snowfall occurred for a day before it melted in the desert.

Karim Bouchetata captured photographs of the magical snow down in the town of Ain Sefra, Algeria.

“Everyone was stunned to see snow falling in the desert; it is such a rare occurrence. It looked amazing as the snow settled on the sand and made a great set of photos.

Can snow fall again on Sahara? Maybe.
