WARNING: Plastic Packed Ice May Cause Cancer And Many Other Diseases

In the Philippines, plastic packed ice are being sold in sari sari stores. To relieve the tropical heat, Filipinos mix the plastic packed ice with water and other drinks. But the plastic that held the water to refrigerate it may contain phthalates (pronounced as ta-LATES). According to lab tests, products with high amount of phthalates may cause asthma,obesity,birth defects and even cancer!

Certain types of Phtalates are used to make plastics soft and flexible, plastics being used to pack ice for refrigeration is no exception. Phthalates are also used to make cosmetics,school supplies, and shockingly, even INSECTICIDES!. Excessive exposure to phthalates pose serious health risks. A study conducted in 2012, concluded that phthalates may cause hormonal imbalance that may lead to breast cancer!

The health risks posed by plastic packed ice was not only caused by phthalates. The frozen plastic packed ice aided by freon may also lead to multiple organ failure! Freon is the most widely known refrigerant and may cause liver,lung and even brain damage.
