The culprit is the phytoplankton thrive on the seagrass Posidonia oceanica. They found out that excessive consumption of this phytoplankton increases the toxicity levels in the fish's organs. The toxicity is dangerous to human since the same compounds can induce hallucinations. The compounds from the seagrass contain the spiritual molecule called dimethlytrypthamine (DMT). In rare cases, the hallucinations can last up to 3 days. It's either you avoid eating this fish or take the risk to have a psychedelic trip to Abyss or Atlantis.
