Cat Nearly Eaten By Boa Constrictor, Rescued Just In Time

Cat Nearly Eaten By Boa Constrictor, Rescued Just In Time

Cats are known for being independent and capable of fending for themselves; however, this isn't always the case.

In the video below, posted by Andres Gonzalez, you will see a cat being helplessly captured by a boa constrictor. The man stepped in to rescue the cat and wrestled the snake away.

He first tried to unwrap the snake's coiled body off the feline, and was eventually able to pull open the snake’s mouth which got the cat’s back leg. The rest of the snake's body then went limp, and the cat was finally able to escape.

Boa constrictors are found primarily in Central and South America. They are carnivores and prey on small to medium-sized animals. They wrap their bodies around their victims and squeeze them tightly until they're dead before consuming them whole. Boa constrictors aren't venomous; their bite can be painful but rarely dangerous to humans.

According to Gonzales, the cat apparently survived the deadly encounter and was seen later that day.
